Vantage enrols new recruits into our Apprenticeship Training Programme

We welcome some new team members into the Vantage family

Here at Vantage Motor Group we have reaffirmed our commitment to cultivating talent and providing first class training to our new recruits in 2018. We have expanded our Apprenticeship Training Programme and have enrolled nine new Apprentice Motor Vehicle Technicians at sites all across our territories.

Our new recruits will be based at our Toyota dealerships in Blackburn, Colne, Knaresborough, Morecambe, Preston, Tamworth and York. We will also have apprentices at ŠKODA Morecambe and Lexus Birmingham. As well as a number of residential training sessions with our manufacturers our new team members will be supported back at their centres by a key mentor.

Our apprentices will be undertaking a three-year training programme which we are confident they will complete and will pave their successful career paths with us here at Vantage Motor Group. It has been well publicised in the news that there has been a drop in the number of people taking up apprenticeships so we are very happy to be bucking this trend.

Our Director's said of the scheme:

““By providing these opportunities for young people Vantage is helping to develop the next generation of talent within our industry.”

Amonst our recent appointments is Cece Hirst who has just started working for Vantage as the apprentice at Toyota Colne. It may be only a small step in helping to bring more women into a traditionally male career but it’s an important one. All of our apprentices will receive their own Snap-on tool box in addition to their generous pay and benefits package.

We can see already that 2018 is going to be an exciting year for Vantage. In addition to our Apprentice Training Programme we have also arranged a scheme with a local school where several female students will be coming into our business later this year to undertake job shadowing placements where they will be observing members of our senior management team to get a real flavour for the motor trade.
