At Vantage, we're celebrating after being shortlisted for a national Automotive Management Award – one of the highest regarded awards in the motor industry.
Glen Ramskill, Centre Principal at Vantage Toyota York near Clifton Moor, is one of just six people shortlisted for General Manager of the Year at the 2017 AM Awards. He began his career in the motor trade at 16-years-old and joined Vantage in 2001 as Sales Controller, working his way up to Centre Principal in 2008. He has since been promoted to Toyota Area Manager in North Yorkshire. Under Glen’s leadership, Vantage Toyota York has gone from strength to strength reporting a record turnover in 2016.
Glen said: “To be nominated for AM’s General Manager of the Year caps off an excellent 2016 for us at York and across the Group – it’s an honour to be shortlisted and it’s the result of hard work across the team.
“We are lucky at Vantage to have an incredibly supportive management team behind us which has driven us into the top ten Toyota centres in the UK network, and although we are always focussed on growth, we are absolutely committed to delivering excellent service to customers old and new at all times.”
Mark Robinson, Managing Director at Vantage Motor Group, said: “Vantage is committed to maintaining extremely high standards for our customers and Glen epitomises this ethos.
“It’s an outstanding achievement to be shortlisted for such a prestigious national award and the recognition shows that Glen’s team at York is one of the best in our Group and also the country.”
The AM Awards ceremony takes place on 9 February at the ICC in Birmingham where Glen will be one of two Yorkshire-based dealers competing for the title.
The judges will select a general manager who has demonstrated excellent leadership skills, ambition, drive and innovative thinking that has helped the dealership achieve business objectives such as sales volumes, profitability, employee and customer satisfaction and loyalty.
We're so proud of Glen, and the team at York, and can't wait for the AM Awards in February. Good luck Glen!
