The Superb Estate sits proudly at the top of ŠKODA's range as its stunning flagship, yet the model is also an affordable choice for many and delivers excellent value. Its elegant styling and equipment levels belie the price paid, which is why so many families and business travellers choose it over all others.
Sleek lines and premium details reinforce the Superb Estate’s range-topping status and help it to command a second look. The determined front expression blends a contoured bonnet with the Czech firm’s trademark chrome grille which is placed between halogen projector headlights. Front fog lamps and 16-inch ‘Spectrum’ alloy wheels are fitted as standard for added sports character, and all spec levels deliver roof rails too.
Comfort and practicality are two major strengths of the interior, and both are boosted by the vast amounts of cabin space. When the rear seat is folded down the back section can hold up to 1,865 litres, and with it in place space remains for 633 litres. To shape this roomy environment ŠKODA has used only first-class materials including durable cloth upholstery, leather for the multifunction steering wheel plus soft-touch mouldings.
To reflect the Superb Estate’s position at the head of the ŠKODA family it’s equipped with sophisticated kit as standard. This includes a radio/CD player with AUX socket, Premium GSM III telephone preparation with Bluetooth and a Maxi DOT trip computer.
To suit the individual driving styles of its many customers the carmaker includes a generous selection of engine choices. This starts with a 125PS 1.4-litre TSI with 200Nm of torque, the sole petrol choice. A 1.6-litre TDI diesel producing 105PS is available with S, SE and Greenline III grades, the last of the three being particularly eco-aware. Combined fuel economy as high as 65.7mpg is possible and the unit only releases 113g/km of CO2. The 140PS 2.0-litre TDI is the most powerful option and it takes around 10.1 seconds to complete 0-60mph with it under the bonnet.
When it comes to safety the Superb has virtually all eventualities covered thanks to its many active and passive features. Electronic Stability Control (ESC) is a suite of technologies comprising Electronic Differential Lock (EDL), Anti-Slip Regulation (ASR), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and various others. Airbags positioned throughout the cabin protect should a collision occur, and infant seats are strapped in securely using ISOFIX anchor points.
