With the ŠKODA Yeti you get a top-range car that pulls off a masterful balancing act between rugged design and precise functionality. Available as either the Yeti or the Yeti Outdoor, this impressive SUV boasts a high performance drive and plenty of internal space.
The two styles offered by ŠKODA lend the Yeti markedly different aesthetic approaches. With the ŠKODA Yeti you have a sleek, sophisticated urban vehicle that features a smooth, uniform body colour on the bumpers, side stills and mouldings. With the Yeti Outdoor the adventurous side of the car has been allowed to shine, resulting in a striking, rugged look that encompasses prominent front and rear bumpers and black body styling. Both styles come with black roof rails as standard on the entry-level S trim, as well as electrically adjustable and heated door mirrors. Standard on the Monte Carlo, Elegance and Laurin & Klement trim levels are bi-Xenon headlights with an Adaptive Front light System (AFS) and LED daytime running lights. Also standard on Laurin & Klement is an electrically operated panoramic sunroof, providing both fresh air and plentiful sunlight.
Inside the ŠKODA Yeti is a spacious, refined interior that doesn't compromise when it comes to comfort. There's ample usable space for luggage in the boot; 416 litres in fact, which can be increased to an enormous 1,760 litres if you fold down the back seats. The innovative Varioflex system allows for a flexible array of seating positions and combinations, leading to 20 different seating arrangements in total. In the driver's seat, a three-spoke leather multifunction steering wheel comes as standard across the range. Manual air conditioning comes with the S trim while the SE trim includes dual-zone air conditioning that allows separate temperatures to be set for the driver and front seat passenger.
The Yeti comes in two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive variants, depending on whether you plan to stick to urban driving or need a vehicle that can handle tough off-road situations. In terms of two-wheel drive, there’s a choice of the 1.2-litre TSI four-cylinder petrol engine, able to generate 104bhp and a max torque of 175Nm, and either the 1.6-litre or 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine, able to push between 104 and 109bhp and maximum torque of 250Nm. Of the diesel engines, the GreenLine II variant achieves the best in terms of fuel and CO2 emissions, with 61.4mpg and 119g/km.
For four-wheel drive, the 4x4 Yeti range offers the 1.8-litre TSI four-cylinder petrol engine and a range of 2.0-litre TDI four-cylinder diesel engines. If you’re really looking for power, the 168bhp variant of the diesel engine offers a torque of 350Nm and a maximum speed of 125mph. The 4x4 range also includes a range of useful systems to aid driving on difficult terrain, including Uphill start assist, Downhill assist, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) off-road, a Traction Control System (ASR) off-road and Electronic Differential lock (EDS) off-road.
On-board the Yeti is a range of cutting-edge technology. An optional rear-view parking camera on the tailgate handle is able to provide a look at what’s behind the car. Standard in SE trim is the Bolero touchscreen infotainment system that serves as a reader for SD or MMC data cards and features AUX and USB sockets. Standard on Laurin & Klement trim is the upgraded Amundsen GPS navigation system with DAB radio, Bluetooth® and a 6.5-inch touchscreen interface. Upper trims also have the Keyless Entry, Start and exit system (KESSY), meaning you can unlock your car without ever having to take out your keys. Maxi DOT is included throughout the Yeti range, which displays useful information on speed and fuel.
The Yeti has an impressive array of safety measures installed, which has led the car to achieve the highest five-star rating from Euro NCAP. These features include Hill-hold control that prevents rolling when on an incline, an on-board tyre pressure monitoring system and an optional driver fatigue sensor that monitors the movement of the driver through the steering wheel. The structural rigidity surrounding the passenger area in the Yeti has been designed to provide protection in the case of a collision. The car also features an array of passive safety features, such as seven different airbags and ISOFIX anchoring points.
