Meet the Vantage Toyota Team in Wakefield

Centre Principal: Simon Parkin

Simon Parkin joined Vantage at the start of 2017 at Kia and Honda Bradford and is now the Centre Principle of Toyota Wakefield. He Joined the motor industry in 1994 after completing an engineering apprenticeship and happening across the career change.

Simon says that he likes working for Vantage as the whole team are very engaged and want to make a difference. Working closely with the Senior Directors makes it much easier to make things happen and react to the market.

Being new to the Toyota brand Simon is excited to experience the full range of cars that Toyota have to offer. So far he has been very impressed by the Hilux that he is currently driving.

Simon enjoys spending time with his family along with cycling and going to the gym. He's a keen amateur cook and likes to experiment with new foods. Simon thinks of himself as "just a dedicated and passionate Yorkshire man". He believes he can make a difference through helping and supporting others to get the same opportunities in life he's had.

Sales Manager: Phil Coles

Phil Coles is the Sales Manager at Toyota Wakefield, working for Vantage since 2016 when the site was acquired. Phil has 14 years experience in the car industry and enjoys working for Toyota because of the kind-nature of their customers alongside the reliability of Toyota vehicles. Phil has also been lucky enough to experience working for another of our manufacturers, Honda, in the Middle East!

When he's not in our Wakefield showroom, Phil can be found spending quality time with his wife and daughters.

Aftersales Manager: Graham Salt

Graham Salt is the Aftersales Manager for Toyota Wakefield as well as overseeing the area. he's been in the motor trade for 21 years and with Toyota for 15 of those so he's certainly a Toyota ambassador.

Graham says that he likes working for Vantage because of the team spirit and the company's ethos.

As a massive petrol head Graham's vehicle of choice would be the Toyota GT86 because of the design, he also says the road handling is phenomenal.

Outside of his time at Vantage, Graham dabbles in property development and is a huge basketball fan. Graham is even a basketball coach in his spare time.

​Parts Manager: Darren Hudson

Darren Hudson

With 23 years motortrade experience, including 20 years with Toyota, Parts Manager Darren is a knowledgeable member of the team at Toyota Wakefield. Darren always knew he wanted to work in the automotive industry, from being younger when he used to take apart cars and put them back together again, to now working for Toyota who he feels sell great products and have a fantastic customer care ethos.

When he's not working, Darren enjoys spending time watching films, playing football or looking after his 2 daughters who are 4 & 9 years old.

Transaction Manager: Brett Haigh

Business Development Manager: George Barton

George Barton

George Barton is the Business Development Manager at Toyota Wakefield, and with almost 36 years of motor trade experience, is a valuable asset to Vantage Toyota. He first joined the motor industry at the tender age of 23, with the hopes of making lots of money, and 36 years later is still loving the industry and working for Toyota because both the product and the customer service are second to none.

George's favourite Toyota is the AYGO because it exceeds everyones expectations, however is a huge fan of the whole Toyota range.

In his free time away from the dealership, George is a family man and enjoys spending time with his daughters and grandchildren, as well as supporting his son who has a huge passion for motorcycle racing. Last year he won 'Thundersport Nationwide 500 Champion' and has also won 'Thundersport Champion of Champions' by beating more competitors in his field than any other rider in the world!
