What is the Motability Scheme?

Motability is the country’s leading car scheme to provide affordable, worry-free access for people with disabilities, members of the Armed Forces and war pensioners to a wide choice of brand-new vehicles. In exchange for your Government-funded mobility allowance, you are likely to be eligible for an affordable three-year lease on a new Lexus car.​

Am I eligible?

If you are in receipt of the Higher Rate Mobility Component of Disability Living Allowance (HRMC DLA) or the Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment (ERMC PIP), you should be eligible. Similarly, if you receive either the War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement (WPMS) or the Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP), you will likely qualify to join the Motability Scheme.

What are the benefits of the Motability Scheme?

As long as you have 12 months of payments remaining on your award you will qualify for Motability. The scheme brings many benefits, including full breakdown cover, insurance and servicing. Adaptations can be made to your vehicle of choice to make it easier for you to operate too.
