Established in 2003 in Yorkshire, Vantage Motor Group has worked hard to achieve impressive success, much like the brands we represent. Beginning with Toyota Knaresborough and York and later Bridlington, 2007 saw us acquire three Vantage Toyota Centres in Lancashire and unite all our showrooms under the Vantage name. In June 2010 we relocated our Bridlington Centre to a new premises in Scarborough and then in 2013 we celebrated 10 years of Vantage with a series of acquisitions
In June of 2013 we were pleased to be appointed as the official Kia dealer for Scarborough, building a brand new showroom alongside our Toyota Scarborough centre. In the same month we acquired three Toyota Centres: Birmingham, Solihull and Tamworth as well as our first Lexus dealership in Birmingham. We also acquired the Grange-over-Sands Toyota centre and, adding another marque to the Vantage family, Barnsley Honda in July.
Towards the end of the same year Vantage acquired a new manufacturer, Citroën, in the form of John Wilding Citroen Morecambe. More recently, in January 2015, we acquired Bradford Honda and then in March we were happy to add Skoda Morecambe to our growing family. Our most recent acquisitions came in January 2016, with our second Lexus dealership in Leeds, and the addition of 2 new Toyota sites in Leeds and Wakefield. These acquisitions were closely followed by the addition of Citroën in Blackpool in October 2016.
Managing Director, Mark Robinson, founds Meridian Motor Group in the heart Yorkshire with Toyota York and Knaresborough, and later acquiring Bridlington.
Mark acquires three more Toyota sites in Lancashire, trading under the name Vantage. This is where Meridian Motor Group gains its trading name as Vantage Motor Group.
The Vantage Toyota Centre located in Bridlington relocates to it's current location in Scarborough due to more space for expansion.
In a celebratory year for Vantage Motor Group, there was a wealth of addition and a fast moving expansion starting in June.
Vantage acquires 4 sites in the Midlands, a new region for the company, with 3 Toyota centres in Birmingham, Solihull and Tamworth as well as a Lexus centre also located in Birmingham. This was another new franchise for the Vantage portoflio whose expansion was in full swing.
Continuing from the Toyota move to Scarborough back in 2010, Vantage decides to experiment with another brand in the same area adding Kia Scarborough to the family.
Honda is the 5th brand to join Vantage Motor Group with the addition of a dealership in Barnsley.
July saw a 10th Toyota centre join the Vantage group as they acquired a site in Grange-over-Sands with the hope of expansion across the Lake District.
The end of 2013 didn't slow down for the team at Vantage as acquisitions kept coming. We were happy to add another manufacturer to our portfolio with Citroën in Morecambe. Vantage now operates for 6 brands over 16 sites in the UK.
The final pieces of the puzzle were added in the early months of 2015. With February being the welcome month of another Honda dealership, located in Bradford, and March seeing Vantage Motor Group take a leap out of their comfort zone once more adding their first ŠKODA branch in Morecambe.
At the start of the New Year, Vantage expanded its fast-growing portfolio of dealerships to 22 across the North and Midlands with the acquisition of Lexus Leeds, Toyota Leeds and Toyota Wakefield.
These sites take the total number of Vantage Toyota dealerships to 12, making it one of the largest Toyota groups in the UK.
Ending 2016 in style, Vantage added another Citroën dealership to their portfolio with the acquisition of Citroën Blackpool at the end of October.
This takes Vantage Motor Group's extensive range to include 12 Toyota, 1 Hyundai, 2 Lexus, 2 Citroën, 2 Honda, 2 Kia and a ŠKODA dealership.
