Exterior Design The Škoda Superb encapsulates a brilliant array of cutting-edge technology in a head-turning body. The sculpted exterior lends the Superb a bold look, made up of strong lines and definite angles that mark out the wings, bumper and grill. The entry-level S trim comes with 16-inch alloy wheels while 18-inch alloys are included with the Laurin & Klement trim. Standard on the Elegance and Laurin & Klement trim levels are the bi-Xenon headlights and LED daytime running lights. To make the Superb even more eye-catching, the back of the vehicle features LED rear lights and can be fitted with a detachable tow bar, making this vehicle both stylish and practical.

Engine and Performance Under the bonnet, there’s a choice of efficient petrol and diesel engines powering the Škoda Superb. The 1.4-litre four-cylinder TSI comes with the S trim level and is able to generate 123bhp, reaching a top speed of 127mph at an acceleration of 0-60mph in around 10.5 seconds. Alternatively, the diesel engines are perfect for keeping fuel costs low. Of all the various diesel engines, the most economical and eco-friendly is the 1.6-litre TDI engine in the GreenLine III trim level. This engine stands out among the class, boasting a fuel consumption of 54.3mpg and the lowest CO2 emissions of all the engines at 109g/km.

Technology The Škoda Superb has an impressive array of technology to make your driving as comfortable and enjoyable as it can be. The optional three-spoke leather steering wheel has inbuilt radio, phone and Direct Shift Gearbox controls, for those that opt for a DSG. Standard in SE trim is the Bolero radio that plays CDs and also serves as a reader for SD or MMC data cards. Upper trims also have the Keyless Entry, Start and exit system (KESSY), a ten-speaker sound system and park assist. The GreenLine trim also has a number of eco-friendly options, such as an inbuilt start/stop system that preserves fuel by automatically switching off the engine when the vehicle is stationary.

Safety Features The Superb has a wide range of safety measures installed. This includes the Mechanical Brake Assist (MBA) and Hydraulic Brake Assist (HBA) to ensure braking intensity when needed. The structural rigidity surrounding the passenger area in the Superb has been designed to provide protection in the case of a collision. The Electronic Stability Control (ESC) system includes an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and an Electronic Differential Lock (EDL). The Anti-Slip Regulation (ASR) system prevents excessive wheel spin, which prevents accidents and saves on fuel. The car also includes a number of passive safety features, such as up to nine different airbags and ISOFIX anchoring points for child-friendly car seats.
