Vantage Toyota host a Halloween party for KidsOut charity in Birmingham

On 31st October, Vantage Toyota hosted a Halloween Party at our Birmingham centre for the third year running. Over 60 children from local refuges were in attendance, as well as parents and carers.

The party featured Halloween-themed decorations, balloon modelling and a magic show and dance session from Non Stop Kids Entertainment, but the kids really loved their treat of a McDonald’s for dinner!

KidsOut’s aim is to provide disadvantaged children with fun experiences and happy memories. These are exceptionally important during difficult periods in a child’s life such as fleeing their home due to domestic violence. The Halloween party could not have been better; the refuge staff and parents witnessed their children grinning from ear to ear, laughing and quite simply forgetting their problems.

One mum said: “We were all dressed up for the party. It was fabulous to be invited and get out of the refuge for the evening. I have 4 children aged between 2 and 10 and we are living in a small 12ft by 12ft space in the refuge with little money. It was great to be able to watch the children having fun. It was an opportunity to feel normal for a change. Thank you so much.”

The friendly Vantage team love getting involved and were on hand to make the families feel safe. Paul Raby, Midlands Area General Manager for Vantage Toyota, has been instrumental hosting all three Halloween parties. Paul said: “This year’s Halloween party was the most successful to date and we had lots of positive feedback from parents and carers. Everyone involved from Vantage look forward to the party now it has become a fixed annual event”.

A special thank you must go out to Sioned Parrish-James from KidsOut and to Sara Williams, Birmingham Co-chair, for all their help in organising the party and for being there on the day.
