We are looking for committed, enthusiastic individuals to join our Search for a Star programme. If you are successful in your application you will be accepted onto our extensive apprenticeship scheme which will enable you to earn whilst you pick up the skills of the trade in a hands-on environment with the full support from both Vantage and our manufacturers.

Earn as you learn

The Vantage apprenticeship programme enables you to combine paid employment with industry leading training, in state of the art facilities as well as an on-the-job environment.

This is all supported by a designated Assessor who will guide and monitor your progress, as well as an experienced mentor to help develop key skills needed to excel in your chosen field.

Recognised apprenticeship training

The apprenticeship programme lasts 3 years and combines working at a Vantage dealership with off-site training at the Toyota Apprentice Academy, located within the Toyota UK manufacturing complex. This advanced apprenticeship course offers nationally recognised qualifications accredited by the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) as well as functional skills such as Maths, English and ICT.

What can you expect to achieve? 

• ​ Apprenticeship standard Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician    (Light Vehicle) Level 3 
•  Level 2 Functional Skills – Maths and English 
•  Level 3 Award in Automotive Refrigerant Handling 
•  Level 2 Award in Hybrid Electric Vehicle Operation and Maintenance 
•  Toyota TEAM21* – Technician Licence

• Salary starts from £5.60 per hour, that’s £244 per week, way above national average.
• Starter Snap On Toolkit worth £1,300 provided at the start of the apprenticeship that becomes yours to keep on completion.

Apprenticeships with Vantage Motor Group

The Programme:

Step 1

January-February

Attend an evening event at a Vantage dealership with your parent or guardian.

• Hear presentations from Vantage Directors and other senior personnel providing further details about the programme
• Take a tour of the dealership
• Get involved in what we call a ‘career speed networking’ event, and ask Vantage staff questions about their jobs or the industry as a whole
• Your parent or guardian can take the opportunity to chat and ask questions about the programme with the Vantage HR team

Have a chat with our personnel and make the decision to take your career forward with Vantage.

Step 2

April

Attend our Employability Skills Training & Selection Day.

• Take our half day workshop which will teach you employability skills including a mock interview
• Attend your interview for your apprentice position at Vantage Motor Group
• All attendees will receive a certificate of attendance

Step 3

July-August

Work Experience Week

• Undertake a one week work experience placement at one of our dealerships
• All attendees will receive a certificate of attendance and a reference from Vantage personnel.

Step 4

August

If successful, applicants will be offered a three year Vehicle Technician Apprenticeship role at the site.

Step 5

September

Successful candidates will be welcomed to Vantage Motor Group and your new career begins!
