Vantage Toyota Preston: lighting the way for energy efficiency

Vantage Toyota Preston is expected to save almost £3000 a year in energy costs, thanks to a new energy and cost-efficient lighting solution provided by Preston-based Zeta Specialist Lighting and Ormiston Electrical Services Ltd.

When Toyota recently issued a new directive to its dealerships specifying standards for minimum lighting, a site survey revealed that the existing illumination at Toyota Preston fell short of the new guidance by almost 50 lux. Approaching Zeta and Ormiston, it was decided that the new lighting design would involve twenty one Zeta LED flood lights, strategically sited to deliver optimum illumination in all areas delivering a significantly higher lux value than previously and providing the technical staff with an enhanced working environment.

What’s most beneficial, however, is the efficiency of the new lighting system. The Zeta LED Flood light uses less power, saves energy and are virtually maintenance free all of which complement Toyota’s hybrid concept.

Ian Graham, East Lancashire CDA General Manager, expressed his opinion, “We've really noticed the difference, the lighting levels are really very good and we no longer have any problem areas. The business case to convert to LED was compelling and we’re delighted with the ongoing savings on energy bills and maintenance we will realise.”

Vantage Toyota Preston is projected to achieve a return on in investment in under 3 years.
