Kia e-Niro Side profile
The Kia e-Niro After the success of the Niro Hybrid and PHEV, it is time for Kia to unveil a full electric Niro. Introducing the e-Niro, Kia’s second globally sold electric vehicle. The e-Niro mixes together the practicality of a crossover with the benefits of an electric vehicle. This innovative model is here to show that buying electric does not have to mean compromise on engaging design or versatility. To differentiate itself with the existing hybrid Niro models, the e-Niro has a selection of exclusive design features, taking much of its inspiration from the Niro EV Concept, with the exterior based on a clean and high tech design, making it futuristic and aerodynamic, only further exaggerated by the tiger-nose grille, which features an integrated charging port, also bearing a de-bossed Niro logo. To help the vehicle stand out even more the air intakes and LED daytime running lights have been redesigned, complimented by blue trim highlights.
Kia e-Niro Side profile
Inspired by the Niro EV concept The e-Niro incorporates the practicality and appeal of a crossover in a sleek, aerodynamic body with subtly sculpted surfaces, only reinforcing the point that greater on road efficiency with an electric vehicle does not need to sacrifice engaging design or crossover versatility. To give the car a clear family identity, the tiger-nose grille is teamed with a newly designed front bumper, also providing a sleek look to the front of the vehicle. The car has a tapered rear windows and a sturdy sill line to elongate its sleek profile, also allowing greater room for the muscular wheel arches that fit perfectly with the 17-inch aluminium alloy wheels, that come in a diamond-cut two-tone finish, to house Kia’s regenerative braking system. Moving to the rear of the car the rear bumper has been redesigned and features similar blue trim highlights to what is at the front of the car, a further alteration to give the electric model a familiar look it has been given the same distinct recognisable rear light signature as its Hybrid and Plug-in siblings. The e-Niro is available in 5 impressive paint colours, including the exclusive Pluto Brown, only available on the e-Niro.
Kia e-Niro Cockpit
Impressive Interior The cabin combines modern design with generous space, differentiated from other Niro models with a range of new features. The dashboard features bright blue trim around the air vents, echoing the trim highlights found on the outside. A mood lighting system illuminates the centre console with lighting in one of six colours. The shelf at the base of the instrument panel features a wireless charger for smartphones. The 8.0-inch touchscreen offers a series of features, specific to the e-Niro, enabling owners to locate charging points and monitor the level of remaining charge. At the top of the dashboard a light displaying whether the battery pack is recharging or fully charged when plugged in.
Kia e-Niro Boot space
Practicality By Design When the Niro was launched in 2016, its new platform was designed for a variety of powertrains, so the introduction of a fully electric powertrain has had minimal effect on versatility, meaning the e-Niro offers greater practicality and versatility than many other electric or hybrid cars. With a 2,7000mm wheelbase, occupants enjoy generous legroom. Spaciousness is only further boosted by the crossover design. The body is 1,805mm wide and 1,570mm tall, giving maximum head and shoulder room. At 4,375mm in length, it offers more cargo space than many other plug-in and electric vehicles. The boot features a dedicated storage area beneath its floor for owners to store the charging cable.
Kia e-Niro controls
Advanced Driver Assist Systems To match the next-generation design, the e-Niro offers a range of Kia Advanced Driver Assistance Systems to support motorists in a range of driving conditions to minimise the risk of collisions. As usual on Kia vehicles the car is fitted with Kia Vehicle Stability Management, for stability while breaking and cornering using the cars Electronic Stability Control system. Other active safety systems available in the e-Niro include Forward Collision Warning with Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA+), Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go (SCC+), High Beam Assist (HBA), Driver Attention Warning (DAW) and Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS).
