New ProCeed Rear
DESIGN The rejuvenated exterior of the ProCeed speaks of vitality, creating a contemporary and dynamic stance. A completely redesigned front end features Kia's new logo, a simplified graphic of the company name that reflects the ethos 'movement that inspires'. The ProCeed features the iconic tiger-nose grille, which is upgraded to a black gloss finish with satin chrome upper and lower wing-shaped garnishes for a sleek and modern appearance, then to create a sportier look, two large side air intakes shoot through the front bumper. The ‘wing’ inspired theme repeats in other elements of the front design, such as the satin chrome trim on the lower air intake grille and the sweeping side garnish which extends into the front wheel arch. A new glossy black diffuser is added to the sporty rear bumper, which also echoes the satin chrome finish seen at the front of the car. New headlamp designs have been introduced with three arrow-shaped modules surrounding integrated LED fog lights and high/low beam modules. These daytime running lights also act as the ProCeed’s turn signals.
New ProCeed Technology
INTERIOR Inside the ProCeed, the driver is instantly welcomed by chic interior décor, sophisticated soothing colours, tactile materials, and a layout designed to put all occupants at ease. The dashboard is split into an upper area, for the ‘floating’ touchscreen infotainment system, and lower area, housing controls for audio, heating, and ventilation. Driver-centric in its layout, the centre console is angled slightly towards the driver’s seat for ease of use on the move. The interior is finished in a higher proportion of sophisticated soft-touch materials throughout, subtly intensifying the refined and upscale ambience of the cabin. The rear seats fold down in a 60:40 fashion and there’s a dual height luggage area floor with parcel shelf to hide luggage and valuables. A pair of 12-volt power sockets and a USB fast charger are provided on the front centre console and are illuminated to make it easier to use at night. Cupholders are additionally provided in the rear armrest for added convenience for rear seat occupants, as well as at the front, in the premium centre console with sliding cupholder cover.
New ProCeed Transmission
SAFETY In addition to the car’s six standard airbags, advanced driver assistance technologies further enhance occupant protection, using active safety systems to mitigate the risk of collisions. Standard safety technologies include High Beam Assist (HBA), Driver Attention Warning (DAW) with Leading Vehicle Departure Warning, Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) with Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) with city, pedestrian and cyclist detection.
New ProCeed On Road
ENGINE The 1.5-litre T-GDi power unit produces 158bhp, while the engine’s turbocharger ensures a wider torque band than the earlier 1.4-litre engine, making it more responsive in a wider range of driving conditions – while also reducing emissions. 253Nm torque is available from 1,500 to 3,500rpm, with emissions of 131g/km. Acceleration to 60mph is completed in just 8.6 seconds thanks to its slick six-speed manual gearbox.
New ProCeed Alloy
DYNAMICS The ProCeed's ride height is 5mm lower than the Ceed Sportswagon, with spring and damper rates tailored to accommodate its shooting brake dimensions and cab-rearward design. Kia's development engineers focused on enhancing the agility and responsiveness of the suspension, while retaining the relatively relaxed gait that owners would expect of the shooting brake body to ensure the ProCeed remains as engaging and confidence-inspiring to drive on a winding country lane as it is on the motorway.
